The theme park Port Aventura will invest an amount of 100 million Euros to build a new area dedicated to car manufacturer Ferrari, called Ferrari Land. It will be located in the Catalan park’s resort, though it is still unknown whether it will have its own access, as the water park, or will be part of Port Aventura.
Ferrari Land might open in 2016 and will feature attractions for all ages inspired by the brand. According to Port Aventura, among its attractions will include "the highest and most rapid vertical accelerator in Europe ", "the first 5-stars Ferrari theme hotel” with 250 rooms, restaurants , shops and " broad areas of race car simulators
The company that owns the fairground, Bonomi Invesindustrial, and Ferrari have came to this agreement, which throws away the initial plan to build it in Valencia. Between 2010 and 2012 there was speculation with the idea of mounting it next to the circuit of Cheste (Valencia) and even the former President of the Generalitat , Francisco Camps , and the Mayor of Valencia, Rita Barbera, met the boss of Ferrari, Luca di Montezemolo, to settle the project. But the investor was not willing that the park had no cost to the Valencian citizens, which was the intention of Valencia’s Government. That project had 400,000 square meters of land and a budget of 1,000 million Euros, with the consequent creation of 2,000 jobs. The figures of the new project in Tarragona are much lower. Supposedly, it has an area of 75,000 square meters and 900,000 million Euros less will be invested.
