The exhibition called Pixar. 25 Years of Animation has just landed at the CaixaForum in Madrid, after visiting many countries in previous years. Together with the exhibition, Pixar’s most famous characters have also arrived here: Woody and Buzz from Toy Story, Nemo and Dori from Finding Nemo, Russell and Kevin from Up, and Bob and Helen from The Incredibles, among many others. This exhibition started at the MoMA of New York in 2005 with this goal: to highlight the technology used by studios to make their movies, as well as the essential work of the talented artists who are involved in them.
The exhibition will be in Madrid until June 22nd, and unlike other exhibitions, this is the only one that has divided its 402 pieces into sections of twelve films included in the tour. Visitors will enter each Pixar movies’ world thought different chapels. Before coming into these spaces, they’ll find urns with original clay or resin sculptures of characters involved in each film. Once visitors are inside, they’ll analyse the story, the characters and the world where the film takes place thanks to drawings, watercolours, videos and other stuff.
Pioneer in computer animation, Pixar has carried out 14 successful animated films, thus winning 30 Oscar Awards (seven of them for Best Animated Feature) and seven Golden Globes.
