Rosberg wins, while Alonso gets fifth position
Vettel and Hamilton leave, and McLaren and Williams overcome Ferrari
JANIRE ZURBANO ARRESE
Nico Rosberg got a runaway victory in Asutralian Grand Prix, the first Formula One race, and become the leader of this season’s championship. The world champion Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) and the pole sitter Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) left the race after completing just two laps. It was a memorable race for home hero and Red Bull debutant Daniel Ricciardo and McLaren rookie Kevin Magnussen, who both achieved podium places.
In addition, Ferrari and its drivers Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen were more focused on defending their position than in advancing on the race. They were looking for avoiding failures and scoring points after Vettel and Hamilton leaving the race. Alonso got the fifth position right behind Jenson Button (McLaren).
